If it is proven that there were falsifications in the Sanasaryan case, I will take responsibility for it. Arthur Vanetsyan
The Director of the National Security Service, Arthur Vanetsyan, disagrees with claims that there is a conflict between the National Security Service and the State Revenue Committee, as the SRC is the only entity that can audit the NSS.
"The SRC can only check our financial and budgetary part; it does not have the authority to audit any other area. The General Prosecutor's Office has the authority to audit us, and a case can also be initiated in the Special Investigative Service," Vanetsyan said during a conversation with journalists.
Vanetsyan emphasized that the NSS conducts its work in a very clean and transparent manner, adhering to all legal provisions.
"If there is a case where the NSS conducts illegal persecution against a person, I am ready to take responsibility that day, both before the law and before society and everyone else. I urge everyone not to try to create artificial noise around the NSS. The NSS has gained great credibility in society during this short period, and no one has the right to speak to the NSS in the language of blackmail or attempt to intimidate us so that we do not fulfill our duties," the NSS director stated.
He pointed out that regardless of a person's official position or whether they are a member or leader of a particular party, if they have committed an offense, they will be held accountable before the law. "If a person has not violated the law, regardless of whether they are our ally or an 'enemy,' we cannot subject them to responsibility or prosecution," he said.
Vanetsyan added that on the day when such a case occurs, he will not work at the NSS and will not be able to look the society and citizens in the eye.
