Video: What Happened in Vayk with the Participation of Officials

For several days, media attention has been focused on an incident in Vayk involving the governor, a member of parliament, and the mayor during Citizen's Day.

According to press reports, the confrontation in Vayots Dzor between Sergey Bagratyan of the Prosperous Armenia Party and Deputy Governor Razmik Tonoyan began over a 'bichok' thrown to the ground by a young participant of the Citizen's Day event. The young deputy governor publicly urged him to retrieve the 'bichok' from the river, which offended the young man's pride. As reported by 'Hraparak', the young man retaliated: 'You need it, you pick it up.' This sparked a verbal altercation, involving others, including Bagratyan. The parliament member admonished the deputy governor: 'In what tone are you speaking? Who gave you the right to humiliate this young man?' The deputy governor took the criticism to heart.

Armdaily.am has access to footage filmed live by a citizen present at the scene. At the start of the video, there is a struggle in the background. The deputy governor, wearing sunglasses and a blue jacket, is in conflict with a young man, while others try to separate the fighters. The recording then cuts out. In the second part of the video, everything appears to have smoothed over, with participants communicating normally. In particular, MP Sergey Bagratyan is seen engaging in a warm conversation with the governor, as the call for Deputy Governor Razmik Tonoyan to join them can be heard.

Details are available in the video.
