The Director of Armenia's National Security Service, Artur Vanetsyan, has requested a retraction from Garegin Miskaryan, a member of the 'Citizen's Decision' Social Democratic Party. Miskaryan announced this on his Facebook page.

The reason is a Facebook post made by Miskaryan on April 18, in which he stated that Artur Vanetsyan is involved in fuel imports in Armenia.

“We have heard that the Vanetsyan family is involved in the flower business and, under the guise of greenhouses, used to import Persian (Euro 4, banned by EAEU regulations) diesel under the name of heating fuel, but it was a new revelation that they were also engaged in fuel imports in New Armenia,” Miskaryan wrote.

Artur Vanetsyan's representative, Vahe Yengibaryan, stated in the retraction text that “the information published in the article does not correspond to reality and contains defamatory statements.”

The representative offered Miskaryan a three-day deadline to refute the misinformation through an appropriate Facebook post as a “gesture of goodwill.”

“At the same time, I would like to inform you that if the aforementioned information is not retracted in accordance with the established procedure, we will resort to other legal protection measures as stipulated by Armenian law,” stated the request sent by the NSS director's representative.
