Persistent Silence Surrounds Allegations of Abuse During Tigran Sargsyan's Tenure: 'Zhoghovurd'

'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'The authorities of the Republic of Armenia have declared war on corruption while simultaneously raising the issue of past abuses. However, it is astonishing that there is a persistent silence regarding the activities of former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, who is now the President of the Eurasian Economic Commission, despite the numerous scandals that arose during that time.

Do you remember the story of the expensive bio-toilets? 124 million drams or about 340 thousand US dollars were spent from the state budget to purchase two bio-toilets, but they never worked. In other words, public resources were simply wasted.

Serious revelations were also made regarding the operations of T. Sargsyan’s government by the President's Audit Service and the Audit Chamber at that time. Yet, it appears that today, no one is investigating these facts.

Moreover, yesterday, T. Sargsyan participated in the meeting of the intergovernmental council of the Eurasian Economic Union held in Yerevan, where he also met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

For more details, see today’s issue of the newspaper.'
