How to Keep a Pony on the 4th Floor: Ashot Bleyan on His Gifted Horse

Today, former zoological garden employee Manuk Manukyan, who organized a protest near the zoo, announced that director Ruben Khachatryan has gifted a pony to Ashot Bleyan, the director of the ‘Mkhitar Sebastatsi’ Educational Complex.

In an interview with Armdaily.am, Ashot Bleyan stated that the pony was not given to him personally, but rather to the educational complex for care purposes. “I live in an apartment on the 4th floor; what am I supposed to do with this pony?” Bleyan remarked. He also noted that the educational complex has a training farm with its horses and a petting zoo.

“I know that the zoo has provided animals not only to us under a contract but also to one of the institutions in Kharberd. The contract specifies a clear timeframe of one year for our care obligations, during which we feed the animals, and they periodically check on us. I must say they are very strict with the inspections,” Bleyan added.
