What Caused the Dispute Between the Deputy Governor and the MP
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: A clash between Sergei Bagratyan of the Prosperous Armenia Party and Deputy Governor Razmik Tonoyan in Vayots Dzor began over a "bichok," which one of the young participants of the Citizen's Day event threw to the ground. The young deputy governor provocatively urged him to retrieve the "bichok" from the river, thereby hurting the young man's pride.
The latter launched a counterattack: "If you need it, you take it yourself." This became a reason for a verbal altercation, which others joined, including Bagratyan. The MP reproached the deputy governor: "What tone are you speaking in, who gave you the right to humiliate a young man?"
The deputy governor took the remark heavily. A source who provided details of the incident said it was surprising how heated the argument became and that members of My Step would raise such a fuss, going so far as to initiate a criminal case: "Because it had all passed, everyone was intoxicated—perhaps overheated—but besides Bagratyan, others should also be blamed for 'insulting' the deputy governor."
