The Charges Against Sanasaryan Are Fully Justified: NSS, HJ
According to the newspaper "Haykakan Jamanak," NSS Investigative Department Head Artur Aghajanyan discussed the charges against Davit Sanasaryan in an interview, stating, "We brought charges because we had a combination of evidence that fully justified our right to bring those charges.
After that, you requested to suspend Mr. Sanasaryan from office, and subsequently, witnesses proposed by him were questioned in order that they would not be in direct service subordination and dependence at the time of their testimony, allowing them to provide objective statements that would be verified through other investigative actions."
Referring to a statement made by Sanasaryan's attorney Inessa Petrosyan that "the investigation is being directed," Aghajanyan responded, "I would argue the opposite: it is more the attorneys who are directing the case in this situation because the same attorneys, particularly Ms. Petrosyan, have previously been involved in numerous criminal cases as defense and have often emphasized the impartiality, objectivity, and even the human approach of the NSS Investigative Body. ... It raises questions that Ms. Petrosyan claims that the criminal case in the NSS is directed, fabricated by the NSS, and is contrived. If all these claims contain a crime composition, and if they are substantiated claims as they interpret them, then why don’t they report a crime to the Prosecutor General to initiate a criminal case against the NSS investigator?"
Aghajanyan also found it incomprehensible regarding the statement made by Sanasaryan's lawyer Inessa Petrosyan's husband, also a lawyer, Karen Mejlumyan, on social media about the case. "Karen Mejlumyan claims the right to make a statement regarding the progress of the criminal case connected to Artur Vanetzyan's statements, particularly concerning his assertion that everything would be clarified after the criminal case is sent to court. Mr. Mejlumyan is not involved in this criminal case as a defender, and the fact that he is the husband of Ms. Petrosyan does not provide him any right to make such a statement regarding this criminal case," Aghajanyan said, adding that Vanetzyan’s statement noted that if a case has been initiated where there are defendants and detainees, it is generally assumed that this criminal case will be submitted to court with an indictment conclusion, and this in no way indicates that sending the case to court is predetermined by Vanetzyan."
