Putin Demands I Not Be Allowed to Leave Armenia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan: Mikheil Saakashvili
Mikheil Saakashvili has commented on the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who suggested to Ukraine's newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky to return Ukrainian citizenship to the former Georgian president.
"This is the same Putin who, in December 2017, publicly demanded from Poroshenko to expel me from Ukraine (which Poroshenko did a month later)," Saakashvili told RBC in a comment.
According to Saakashvili, it was Putin who requested President Petro Poroshenko not to invite him to the 2014 inauguration ceremony, and now, “Putin’s representatives are demanding through intermediaries not only that Zelensky not restore my citizenship but also to set a strict condition that I not be allowed to enter Ukraine.”
“The exact same demand not to allow me to enter the country has been put forth by Putin not only to Georgia but also to the authorities of Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan,” he added.
