Azerbaijan and Turkey Develop Laser-Guided Bomb
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense Industry and the Turkish ASELSAN company have jointly developed an inert version of a laser-guided aviation bomb, which is now ready for testing. This information was provided by representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry attending the IDEF-2019 exhibition in Istanbul.
The first prototype of the bomb has been produced in three samples. The bomb's casing has recently been sent to Turkey for integration with the laser guidance system developed by ASELSAN. ASELSAN representatives have made certain modifications to the design before integrating the system with the bomb produced in Azerbaijan.
Testing will be conducted in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani-made QFAB-250 bombs can hit targets up to 12,000 meters away, depending on the altitude of deployment.
