Primitive Defamation Cannot Earn a 'Name': Arman Abovyan on Incident in Vayots Dzor

Member of the National Assembly from the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction, Arman Abovyan, made a post on his Facebook page regarding an incident that occurred during the Citizen's Day celebration in Vayots Dzor.

He specifically noted:

"Today, a very strange video was published by one of the members of the 'My Step' alliance, in which they openly and emotionally accused the MP from the 'Prosperous Armenia' party, Sergey Bagratyan, and the party in general, making various allegations.

Let me start from the beginning.

According to certain information, during the celebration of 'Citizen's Day' in the Vayots Dzor region, there was supposedly an incident between the deputy governor and the MP from the 'Prosperous Armenia' party, Sergey Bagratyan.

This is one.

The second point is that the MP from the 'My Step' faction was very emotionally claiming that Bagratyan had insulted some deputy governor and was on the verge of physical assault (at this moment, my eyes began to widen in astonishment).

First and foremost, I would like to clarify a couple of points regarding this absolutely false information that, unfortunately, was voiced by our colleagues, I do not know whether consciously or not, or perhaps under the influence of inexperience and excessive emotion.

First, no one attempted to physically assault anyone. This is a lie and essentially defamation, or it is the sick imagination of the deputy governor trying to justify his inadequate and strange behavior.

Personally knowing Sergey Bagratyan, I am confident that he was neither under the influence of alcohol, nor did the incident described by the MP from the 'My Step' faction and the deputy governor occur (more precisely, not in the scenario that our colleague emotionally presents).

In any case, I call on all my colleagues to judge soberly, to think a thousand times and to thoroughly verify information before publishing, especially when it concerns the 'Prosperous Armenia' party (after all, political responsibility exists).

As for the incident, I simply urge our colleagues to draw conclusions from the situation created and first and foremost explain to their teammate, the deputy governor, that yes, 'the situation has changed' and primitive defamation cannot earn a 'name'.

As for the purpose and reason behind this provocation, if necessary, I will definitely address it, I want to believe that this is just a misunderstanding.

Let's see how events develop, and we will make final conclusions accordingly.

P.S. It is strange that recently our colleagues are often trying to give us instructions. This raises undesirable suspicions.
