Kocharian's Defenders Submit Application to Court
The legal team of the second President Robert Kocharian has submitted an application to the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan. This was reported to ArmLur.am by defense attorney Haik Alumyann.
Attached is the content of the letter: “Robert Kocharian’s case will soon be presented to the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan. The judge considering Kocharian’s criminal case will be determined through electronic signature, however, Kocharian’s defenders have information that the signing process could be organized in such a way that the case is assigned to a pre-designated judge. This has been reported in various media outlets, where before entering the case into the computer, fields for other judges are closed, leaving only the judge who has been pre-designated for the consideration of that case. Robert Kocharian’s defenders have submitted an application to the court. To eliminate such a possibility, to make the distribution process transparent, and to alleviate the defense's suspicions, we request the court to allow Robert Kocharian's defenders to be present at the entire process of signing his criminal case.”
