Mother from Armenia Sentenced in the Deaths of Two Young Daughters in Russia

A resident of Voronezh, Russia has been sentenced to suspended imprisonment for causing the deaths of her three and two-year-old daughters. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The bodies of the children were discovered on November 16 at the residential premises of a farm belonging to Podvoriye LLC. According to investigative data, on November 16, 2018, a 27-year-old woman, who moved to the Voronezh region from Armenia with her husband, left home and left the children alone. There was a stove in the room, from which the linen caught fire. The girls died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

A criminal case was opened against the mother for causing the death of two individuals through negligence. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, a makeshift stove was installed in the residential area.

The girls' parents are citizens of Armenia. They moved to Russia in April 2018 and registered for migration.
