Is Being a DJ a Shame? Pashinyan on Rumors of Discontent with Eduard Aghajanian

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed reporters today regarding reports of dissatisfaction with certain officials in his team, specifically whether he plans to replace anyone, including Chief of Staff Eduard Aghajanian and Ararat Governor Garik Sargsyan.

“But why should I be dissatisfied with Eduard Aghajanian? Is being a DJ a shame? Eduard Aghajanian graduated from the University of Monaco. Garik Sargsyan has been elected as a village mayor through democratic means, something that hasn’t happened in the republic for decades. For instance, they say, ‘Hakob Arshakyan said, February 30, OMG, what is that if it's not a slip?’ I am ready to substantively discuss everything regarding what you say; whether they are satisfied or dissatisfied, what have these people done? If they have done something, we can evaluate that and hold them accountable,” Pashinyan stated.

He added, “In free and fair elections, Garik Sargsyan received over 20,000 votes. So, who assesses the work of the governor? First and foremost, the work of the governor is assessed by the people of the region.” To the remark that the votes were cast under the influence of euphoria, he replied, “But why hasn’t anyone else received those votes under the influence of euphoria? My team had 7-8 candidates there.”
