Diesel and Gasoline Prices Have Increased: Jamanak

"Jamanak" newspaper reports that diesel fuel has increased in price at gas stations in Yerevan. According to the newspaper, one liter of diesel fuel is now being sold for 470 drams, while just days ago, it was priced at 440 drams.

As is well known, diesel fuel is utilized in the agricultural sector, and according to certain reports, it is expected to rise in price again in the near future, which in turn will lead to an increase in agricultural product prices.

It should be noted that the rise in diesel prices occurs at a time when agricultural work is beginning. After all, it is during this period that the demand for this type of fuel sharply increases.

Additionally, gasoline prices have also risen by 10 drams, with regular gasoline selling for 420 drams per liter, and premium gasoline at 440 drams.

Incidentally, since January of this year, the customs duty on gasoline has increased by 2 percent. This means that gasoline imported from third countries is cleared through customs at a higher price. However, in 2020, the customs duty established for this will increase even more, by 5 percent, which may pose serious obstacles for those entrepreneurs importing gasoline from third countries."
