Collision Involving Hyundai, ВАЗ 2121, Opel Zafira, and Opel Astra in Gegharkunik Province

Today, on April 26, a car accident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. Around 1:30 PM on the 9th km segment of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway, vehicles involved included a Hyundai driven by 25-year-old Aram Hovhannisyan, bearing license plate 77 LA 711, a ВАЗ 2121 driven by Russian citizen Andrey Orelchnik with license plate 08 MA 068, an Opel Zafira driven by 45-year-old Mikael Stepanyan from Yerevan with license plate 34 RD 814, and an Opel Astra driven by 39-year-old Emil Hovhannisyan, a resident of Vardenis, with license plate 36 OV 311. According to the news outlet, as a result of the accident, 69-year-old Zhora Gasparyan, a passenger in the Opel Astra and resident of Karchaghbyur village in Gegharkunik Province, was transferred to the medical center in Sevan with bodily injuries. Citizens and members of the traffic police’s 2nd battalion's 4th squad, led by squad commander Vruir Gabrielyan, were the first to assist the injured.

Preliminary information suggests that the cause of the accident was the appearance of large horned livestock on the highway. One of the drivers attempted to avoid colliding with the livestock, resulting in the accident.
