Being a Border Guard is Not Just a Job Title, But a Mission - The Prime Minister Congratulated on Border Guard Day

The border, in general, is one of the most mysterious phenomena that can or does exist, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the event dedicated to the day of Border Guards of the National Security Service.

"It's just a line, and just one meter beyond it, you feel far from home, yet just 1 cm this side, you feel at home. When we say the Republic of Armenia, we primarily mean our borders, because those borders determine our place on this planet, our place under the sun, and our perception of our future and past," said the Prime Minister.

He noted that border service plays an extremely important role in this regard.

"I want to emphasize that due to certain known circumstances, today being a border guard is not just a job title, but a mission. This mission is being carried out honorably today by the servicemen of the border troops. Today, there is at least de facto a concept such as a border village or a border community in Armenia. In this context, Border Guard Day is a celebration not only for the NSS border troops but also for our armed forces and our people, because the security of the border is the security of our children and the future of our country," noted Nikol Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the NSS border guards, the Armenian Armed Forces, the police troops, the Russian border troops, and the residents of border villages for their service in keeping the borders of Armenia secure.
