Yerevan's Special Music School Teachers to be Allocated 50 Million AMD
In Armenia, the lowest-paid artist-teachers will have the opportunity to earn extra income this year for additional work. Teachers from Yerevan's Special Music School No. 13 will receive 1 million AMD each from the government.
This decision was made during today's session of the Armenian government. The funds are allocated for the implementation of the "Your Art in School" program executed through the Ministries of Culture and Education and Science.
The total fund for the program amounts to 50 million AMD. In exchange for the 1 million AMD, the educators are required to visit 30 educational institutions throughout the year, which includes 3 schools in each region of Armenia. The allocated amount for visiting one educational institution is calculated at 33,300 AMD, which covers travel expenses, costs for transporting canvases, easels, musical instruments, and other necessary teaching materials, as well as per diem, accommodation, and compensation for work without taxes and duties.
In addition, the government decided to allocate an extra 10,591,700 AMD to cover taxes and duties beyond the initial 50 million AMD reserved for the program.
A grant competition was announced in 2018 for the implementation of the program, resulting in the selection of the proposal presented by Yerevan's Special Music School No. 13.
