Privileges of 'Zone Watchers' Revoked, No Cell Left Unsearched: Zeynalyan

The privileges of the 'zone watchers,' which existed under previous administrations, have been revoked, said Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan during a press briefing with journalists.

"There is no cell that goes unsearched, and there is no individual from whom prohibited items are not confiscated. This marks the end of the era of those privileges; it has ceased to exist under our authority," said the Minister of Justice.

He noted that no one in the detention facilities enjoys privileged conditions.

"Illegal payments to keep doors open, movements of money inside, we have eliminated that. As for playing games inside, I have repeatedly stated that they can play legal and permitted table games. They can also play 'roulette' at tables, and here, instead of cash being exchanged, they can be registered. To eliminate this, we need to abolish the concept of 'obshchak' so that there is no movement outside," said Artak Zeynalyan.
