New Law in Ukraine: Only Ukrainian Will Be Spoken in All Areas of Life
The Ukrainian Rada has passed a law on "The Use of Ukrainian Exclusively in All Spheres of Life."
In the Ukrainian parliament, 278 MPs voted in favor of the decision, while only 226 votes were needed.
The document still requires the president of the country to sign it. It will come into effect two months after the signing. The law regulates the implementation of the state language, Ukrainian, across the entire country and in all areas. The only exceptions will be private conversations and religious ceremonies.
