Tense Situation in Tbilisi in Front of the Turkish Embassy, Police Barrier Set Up
The Armenian informational platform "Aliq Media" in Tbilisi reports that Armenians living in Georgia have been staging a protest titled "Demand and Compensation" near the Turkish embassy in Tbilisi every year on April 24.
However, this year, just ahead of the Armenian community's demonstration, an exhibition featuring children of Turkish descent has been organized, coupled with a festive event.
This is the reason why the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have erected a barrier, closing off the main area of the park between the Armenian community and the "Ataturk Exhibition."
According to the source, the situation in front of the Turkish embassy is tense. On one side, Armenians are conducting a protest rally under the banner "Demand and Compensation" for the April 24 events, while on the other side, the embassy is celebrating Children's Day with festive activities.
As a result of these circumstances, the area in front of the embassy has been divided into three parts: one part is dedicated to the festive event and exhibition, the middle section is occupied by law enforcement officers, and on the other side are representatives of the Armenian community, who have very little space available.
