Su-30SM Fighters to Arrive in Armenia by Next Year’s Beginning, Tonoyan
The first multifunctional Su-30SM fighters will arrive in Armenia by the beginning of next year. There are plans for further purchases of these aircraft. This was announced by Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan during a press briefing on April 24, at the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security, as reported by TASS.
“In the first phase, four aircraft will be delivered. The supply is scheduled for the end of this year or the beginning of 2020. After that, we will work on this direction,” he said, adding that the first monetary tranches for the Russian fighters have already been transferred.
Tonoyan also mentioned that Armenia has further plans to acquire Russian military equipment. “We will be arming and rearming very decisively. Purchases will include Russian armaments,” the minister noted.
