108-Year-Old Yepraksya Grandmother, Survivor of Genocide, Visits Tsitsernakaberd

On the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, 108-year-old Yepraksya Gevorgyan, a survivor of the genocide, visited Tsitsernakaberd. Yepraksya, who fled from Kars, shared with journalists several episodes from her family’s history, recounting how her mother had narrowly escaped from Western Armenia.

“We migrated from Kars to Oshakan, then we went to Ashtarak and Yeghvard, but there was no place left for people there. Then we went to Gyumri. There we met Askhanaz Mravyan (a member of the USSR Central Executive Committee, revolutionary, statesman), who took us to a two-story house. He told us, ‘Come in here, settle down until we see what happens,’” Yepraksya recounted, as reported by News.am.
