The new director of the Noyragavit Customs is not a relative of Prime Minister Pashinyan's driver, says the SRC
Today, the newspaper 'Zhamanak' reported that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently appointed the son of his driver's aunt as the director of the Noyragavit customs point, which deals with the clearance of vehicles. The paper also recalled that two weeks ago, the Prime Minister ordered the dismissal of an employee who leaned a flag against the wall at that customs point, and shortly thereafter, the head of the customs house was also dismissed.
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) has denied this information.
"The circulated information is not true. Deputy Chief of the Customs Service Gegham Sarmazyan, who was appointed Deputy Head of the Ararat Customs Administration by order of the SRC president on April 15, is not the son of Prime Minister Pashinyan's driver's aunt. He has long been working in the system and has held various positions. Gegham Sarmazyan has risen from inspector to deputy head of the territorial tax inspection, and for the last six months, he has also served as the deputy head of the Western Customs Administration," the SRC's press office told 'Haykakan Zhamanak'.
