It’s Simply a Disgrace: No Quorum After Break in City Council Meeting

During today’s session of the Yerevan City Council, there was no quorum after the break. Mayor Hayk Marutyan announced that, since there was no quorum, they would try to continue the city council meeting again in half an hour.

In this regard, David Khajakyan, the head of the City Council faction “Luyse,” wrote on his Facebook page: “The 57-member majority did not consider it necessary to ensure at least their presence. This is simply a disgrace: the meeting cannot take place due to the lack of a quorum.”

Later, it became possible to secure a quorum, and the meeting continued.

It is noteworthy that there were initially 16 items on the agenda of the city council, including the creation of a municipal entity for “Yerevan Waste Collection and Sanitation” and the approval of its charter.
