Stabbed Father in the Neck and Face, Struck Him Twice in the Head with a Brick
The investigative committee of the Republic of Armenia has completed the pre-trial investigation regarding a murder case that occurred in Brnakot, Sisian region. Charges have been brought against the 22-year-old son of the victim.
Earlier, it was reported that on January 6, 2019, around 5:00 PM, a murder took place in one of the houses in the village of Brnakot, Sisian community in the Syunik region.
The investigation has uncovered several circumstances and motives surrounding the murder.
According to data obtained during the pre-trial proceedings, on the date of the incident, January 6, 2019, around 5:00 PM, a dispute over household matters arose between a young man born in 1997 and his 51-year-old father, during which the young man inflicted injuries to his father’s neck and face with a kitchen knife. Subsequently, he struck his father twice in the head with a brick placed on the stove, and then attacked him several times in the chest with another kitchen knife.
As a result, the man died from traumatic and hemorrhagic shock caused by blunt, sharp, penetrating and non-penetrating injuries to the face, neck, chest, and left upper limb.
Based on the sufficient evidence gathered, the young man born in 1997 has been charged under Part 1 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code. He has been taken into custody as a preventive measure.
The completion of the preliminary investigation has been announced, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
