We do not oppose the transfer of the Hydromet service from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to the Ministry of Environment, said Emergency Situations Minister Felix Tsolakyan at a press conference today.

The minister also mentioned that they will soon propose to the government an increase in salaries for the non-commissioned officers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The minister noted that during the past six months, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia has handled 1 million phone calls.

“However, the calls related to emergencies amounted to about 18,000 to 20,000, while the remaining calls were inquiries about weather conditions and road statuses. During these six months, 2,300 fire incidents have also been recorded, along with 29 cases of rockfalls,” the minister stated.
