If We Arrest Everyone, Tomorrow Those Cases Will Go to the ECHR: Pashinyan

In a Facebook live broadcast, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the question, "What steps are being taken to implement transitional justice?" He stated that discussions and studies need to take place on this issue to avoid making mistakes.

"We can end up making the situation worse if we act hastily," he said, emphasizing that these reforms cannot be implemented in just a month or two, but must go through a long process.

He reminded that there could be appeals to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in case of errors.

"In the end, there is the ECHR. If we proceed, arrest everyone, and put them on trial under transitional justice, tomorrow those cases will go to the ECHR, and if we lose there, the processes that have taken place will have to be reversed. Ultimately, it will turn out that we did nothing, because we felt the need to act quickly," he said.
