We Have Landslide Issues That Could Block a Village Road: Felix Tsolakyan
“On the 20th, it will rain heavily, and there will be snowfall in the mountainous regions. The temperature will drop to a minimum of 3 degrees at night. Regarding water issues, we have received our first alert from the village of Yervandashat that the river waters are rising and might flood the fields. Landslides have activated; we currently have active landslides at six locations, with a particularly active one in the Lori Region, which threatens the forest layer's flow towards the road. One village road may be blocked,” stated the Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan during today’s government meeting.
Acting Minister of Agriculture Gegham Gevorgyan also responded, noting that yesterday's hail was not severe and did not cause significant damage. “Can we say that the risk of frost damage has been overcome, or is there still a risk?” inquired Nikol Pashinyan. Tsolakyan replied that temperatures will drop the most on April 20 and 21.
