Three Minors Became Pregnant After Turning 16, No Criminal Cases Initiated: Duryan

The head of the 3rd department of the Criminal Intelligence Main Directorate, Police Colonel Nelly Duryan, addressed the recent information regarding the pregnancies of three minors on her Facebook page.

She informed that decisions were made to refuse the initiation of criminal cases based on the prepared materials.

The full statement is presented below:

“Recently, information has been circulating on the internet regarding the pregnancies of three minors. Materials have been prepared in the police regarding these facts.

As a result, it was revealed that all three minors had gotten married and that relatives from both sides attended their wedding ceremonies. It was also found that all three minors engaged in sexual relations after turning 16.

Therefore, in all three cases, the characteristics of Article 141 of the RA Criminal Code are absent. That is, the sexual relations with a person under sixteen or committing acts of a sexual nature against a person under sixteen.

Decisions have been made to refuse the initiation of criminal cases based on the prepared materials.”
