Russian Buses - Group GAZ Interested in Reforming Yerevan's Transport System
The well-known bus manufacturing company "Russian Buses - Group GAZ" has expressed interest in participating in the reform program for Yerevan's transport system. This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Yerevan Municipality.
During a meeting with a delegation led by Dmitry Pijikov, director of the company's external economic department, the first deputy mayor of Yerevan, Hrachya Sargsyan, presented the main requirements and approaches that will be included in the urban transport system's modernization project.
"The Yerevan municipality is currently receiving proposals regarding the procurement of new buses from various well-known companies in the industry. The new transport network proposes to operate 845 buses in Yerevan. All specifications for selecting the necessary buses are currently being clarified," said Hrachya Sargsyan.
Dmitry Pijikov, presenting the activities of "Russian Buses - Group GAZ," noted that the company produces more than 20 types of urban buses. The company's buses occupy about 75% of the Russian market. The variety in the model range allows for consideration of bus operations even in challenging terrain conditions. Additionally, using spare parts and components from both domestic and foreign manufacturers ensures a high quality of buses. Pijikov also indicated that they are ready to host a Yerevan delegation, which could familiarize itself with the production processes and technical capabilities of the buses on-site.
The first deputy mayor of Yerevan again emphasized that the municipality is open to discussing any proposals aimed at reforming and regulating the sector that meet the requirements outlined in the developed project.
