Husband Charged After Inflicting Serious Injuries on Wife

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed details regarding a case in which a husband inflicted serious bodily harm on his wife.

A 53-year-old man has been charged in the case.

According to the evidence collected during the investigation, on October 8, 2018, around 7:00 AM, a resident of the Armavir region, born in 1965, had a domestic dispute with his wife that escalated. During the argument, he deliberately struck the face of his 47-year-old wife, pulled her hair, threw her to the ground, and hit her face 4-5 times with his fist. Afterward, he picked up a kitchen knife from the floor and inflicted severe injuries on her face, resulting in permanent disfigurement.

Based on sufficient evidence collected, the 53-year-old resident of Armavir has been charged under Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. A measure of restraint in the form of a signature not to leave the country has been selected for him. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the court with an indictment.
