Contract Soldier Dies from Gunshot Wound

The military police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia has reported a case to the Fourth Garrison Investigation Division of the Investigative Committee. On April 18, 2019, around 8:20 AM, a contract soldier identified as N.S. sustained a gunshot wound in the armory of military unit N of the Ministry of Defense.

N.S. was transported to the Mikayelyan Institute of Surgery, as reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 110 of the Armenian Criminal Code, and an investigative team headed by the head of the Fourth Garrison Investigation Division, M. Avagyan, has arrived at the scene, which is located at one of the military units in Yerevan.

Urgent investigative and procedural actions are being carried out.

While providing necessary medical assistance, biological death of N.S. was recorded around 11:35 AM. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
