European Court Rejects Request for Interim Measures in Manvel Grigoryan Case
On April 16, 2019, the European Court of Human Rights rejected a request for interim measures in the case of Manvel Grigoryan.
This was reported by the representative of Armenia at the European Court of Human Rights.
It is recalled that Grigoryan's lawyer had approached the European Court requesting interim measures according to Rule 39 of the Court's regulations, obliging the Armenian authorities to immediately transfer Manvel Grigoryan to a civil hospital under the supervision of the relevant medical specialists, as well as to transport him to a healthcare institution in France for further examination and treatment.
The authorized representative of the Armenian government at the European Court, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, submitted the position of the Armenian government within the stipulated time frame, highlighting and providing all necessary data confirming the provision of adequate medical assistance.
Specifically, it was noted that Grigoryan had received appropriate medical help throughout his detention, and moreover, he had undergone regular examinations and had been hospitalized in civil hospitals.
Based on the information presented and finding the measures taken by the Armenian government sufficient, the European Court rejected the request for applying interim measures.
