Video: Gagik Tsarukyan on the Situation Surrounding the Cement Factory
Before the beginning of the National Assembly session, Gagik Tsarukyan answered questions from journalists, particularly addressing the uproar surrounding the cement factory.
"The main reason is the commission, as this issue has been discussed with the Minister of Economy. We reduced the price of cement from 50,000 to 40,000 to increase demand. But today, I do not know who, due to personal interests, has decided that so many families should not work, that a tax should not be placed on clinker, whereas clinker is a major part of cement and the main expense.
Today, to receive 100,000 tons of clinker, it is necessary to pay 3 million for gas and 1.5 million for electricity, and to pay the salaries of 1,300 people. Meanwhile, they are considering not imposing a tax on clinker to solve personal interests and issues with acquaintances and relatives.
I do not have demands, but the chairman of the commission should be held accountable to change the decision. The government had decided, the issue was resolved, so what changed? You will all know during the commission session," Tsarukyan said.
