Robbery Incident Against Gas Station Employee Revealed

The investigative committee of the Republic of Armenia has uncovered details surrounding a robbery incident involving an employee of a gas station in Vanadzor. Following extensive investigative and procedural actions, a suspect has been apprehended.

Preliminary reports indicate that on April 13, 2019, around 01:30, the alleged perpetrator of the crime, using life-threatening violence by holding a knife to the gas station employee's neck and issuing threats of murder, entered the victim's office. He stole cash accumulated from gasoline sales belonging to the company, as well as the employee's Samsung Galaxy A3 mobile phone.

A criminal case was initiated by the investigative committee of the Lori region on April 13, 2019, under Article 175, Part 2, Points 3 and 4 of the RA Criminal Code. The employee has been recognized as a victim and has been interrogated regarding the incident. Various investigative actions have been conducted, including an examination of the crime scene, where micro-particulates and blood-like traces were discovered. Samples were taken, witnesses questioned, and confrontational interrogations conducted, alongside other investigative measures to identify the suspect and compile an investigative plan. For the purpose of clarifying significant circumstances in the criminal case, forensic and genetic examinations have been assigned.

Through the undertaken investigative efforts and operational-search measures, the identity of the alleged perpetrator has been established. He is a resident of the Lori region, born in 1997. The suspect was located and arrested on the same day. Based on sufficient evidence collected, charges have been pressed against the 22-year-old under Article 175, Part 2, Points 3 and 4 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigator has submitted a motion to the court requesting pre-trial detention for the suspect, which has been granted.

The pre-trial investigation continues, and necessary investigative actions are being undertaken to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
