Why Speed Cameras Are Not Being Stopped: The Prime Minister Clarifies

Compared to the first quarter of last year, fines have decreased by 50,000. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia during a conversation with journalists today.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that when the government meeting issued an instruction to temporarily halt the operation of speed cameras, people on social media were reporting that the number of casualties would increase. “We said, well, if there is such widespread public concern, then let’s not do anything, and let’s proceed gradually to avoid the situation where we would end up harming more than helping,” he added.
