Think, Pashinyan: Open Letter from a BHK MP to the Prime Minister

Georg Petrosyan, a member of the BHK faction in the National Assembly, has written an open letter to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, addressing the incident that occurred at the Ararat Customs House.

Petrosyan noted on his Facebook page:

“Open Letter to Nikol Pashinyan,
Mr. Pashinyan, as a prime minister who encourages work, do you not intend to examine the employment history of the customs officer dismissed under your direct order? If it turns out that he was knowledgeable in his core duties and a disciplined employee, shouldn’t you issue an equally undeniable order to reinstate him?”

“Let’s put aside the fact that there are no specific rules for the preservation of the Flag in such offices; therefore, the condition of the Flag can best be assessed from a moral obligation perspective.”

“Where does the guaranteed right to work stand, which any state declaring itself social has a legal obligation to ensure? Where does the interest of the employee's family members, including primarily that of minor children, stand in terms of livelihood?”

“Think, Pashinyan, and see if there are those around you who disrespect the honor of the Flag or do not recognize its value, and how they are any better than the well-known youth who was unjustly dismissed from work. Please weigh the options well; perhaps you should issue contrary instructions that would enable both correcting the employee's mistake (if any) and dispelling the accusation directed at you that you did this to enable the so-called 'step taken' incompetents or to fulfill the debt of securing a job for a complainant known for causing a stir.”
