Hungary Ratifies Armenia-EU Agreement

The Parliament of Hungary has ratified the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union.

The agreement was adopted unanimously.

It is worth recalling that diplomatic relations between Hungary and Armenia were severed after Hungary extradited Ramil Safarov in 2013. Safarov had been sentenced to life imprisonment in Hungary for murdering Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan while he was asleep.

At that time, Armenia cut diplomatic ties with Hungary, which have not been restored to this day.
