2-Year-Old Child Escapes from Grandparents in Yerevan

A 2-year-old child in Yerevan escaped from the sight of his grandparents while they were taking money from an ATM. This incident was reported by police who are active in the central streets of the city, noting that the event occurred a few days ago.

“Naturally, it can be a bit challenging for elderly grandparents to withdraw money from an ATM. They were both focused on the machine. Taking advantage of the situation, the child wandered off in search of his interests,” said Senior Lieutenant Armen Khachatryan from the police.

Once the grandparents noticed the child was missing, they turned to the police for help. Fortunately, the officers managed to locate the child very quickly. As the police representative mentioned, in such cases, they try to understand the psychology of the child who has escaped from adult supervision: “In such situations, if the child is not crying or frightened, he tends to follow his interests, heading towards playgrounds or areas where there are many children, especially if there are toys around,” he explained.

This time, past experience did not fail them. The 2-year-old was found near the amusement rides adjacent to the Opera House and returned to his grandparents.
