Video: Citizen Attempts to Jump from Telecommunications Tower, Emerges Safe

On April 10 at 13:27, a call was received by the '911' service reporting that a citizen was attempting to commit suicide by jumping off the roof of a seven-story building near the former oil factory in the city of Artashat, Ararat Province. Emergency rescue assistance was needed.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a firefighting and rescue unit was dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that the citizen, identified as G.P. (born 1993), had climbed onto the telecommunications tower while in an intoxicated state (according to his statement) and refused to come down.

An instructor from the National Center for Crisis Management’s psychological support department established contact with the citizen, providing phone-based psychological counseling; however, the call was subsequently interrupted by the citizen.

Thanks to the explanatory work of the rescuers and police officers, G.P. voluntarily descended from the tower.
