Spayka Issues a Statement
Spayka company has issued a statement, which specifically mentions:
In response to the disinformation published by the State Revenue Committee (SRC) regarding Spayka, we wish to draw public attention to the fact that the SRC speaks with threats regarding the company's director's objections to unverified and hypothetical claims of tax liabilities, as well as to the request for a thorough investigation. This is merely because the company’s director does not obediently comply with the demand presented; the SRC appears to be attempting to use legal seizure as a tool to intimidate the individual and collect funds.
All arguments mentioned in the SRC’s comments have been thoroughly refuted by the defense of the company’s director, Davit Ghazaryan, during a court session on the detention request held on April 5. If necessary, we are prepared to hold a press conference in the near future and publish these.
We consider the publication of legal arguments by the SRC outside the legal process in media networks to be an attempt to exert unlawful influence on the judicial system.
We view the dissemination of directed misinformation by the SRC not only as illegal but also as a direct threat to the existence of the Spayka company.
We have never renounced and do not intend to renounce the fulfillment of justified tax obligations and are ready to collaborate effectively with the SRC in this regard.
It should be noted that concerning the case of failing to pay taxes in particularly large amounts, criminal charges were filed against Ghazaryan on April 4, 2019, under Article 205, part 2 of the RA Criminal Code (failure to pay taxes, fees, or other mandatory payments in particularly large amounts).
According to the SRC’s message, Spayka company has failed to pay 7,036,666,312 AMD in customs duties and taxes resulting from the entrepreneurial activities it has undertaken.
