State Office is Not Something to Long For: Kostanyan
Many ongoing corruption criminal cases were initiated during my tenure, I simply did not manage to complete them. This was stated today by former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan to journalists.
"I have never taken the opportunity to comment on any particular criminal case, but I assure you that soon I will address public high-profile cases regarding the quality of their investigation, and those cases that have not received public attention, while also taking into account that many corruption cases currently under investigation were initiated during my tenure; I simply did not manage to bring them to completion," he noted. In response to a clarifying question from a journalist, he indicated that this included the case of Aram Harutyunyan.
When asked other questions by journalists, Kostanyan mentioned that if someone manages to gain financial resources through professional activities abroad, then his services to the country should be rendered free of charge.
To the question of whether he misses the times when he was a public official, he responded that there is nothing to long for in a state position.
