Part of Yerevan Residents to Be Without Water for 36 Hours Due to New Accident at "Arzni 1-Yerevan" Water Pipeline
According to "Veolia Water," there has been another accident at the "Arzni 1 – Yerevan" water pipeline in the Hrazdan gorge.
Consumers in the Arabkir, Kentron, and Erebuni administrative districts of Yerevan, supplied by this pipeline, have been deprived of water supply since 12:00 PM, affecting 4 percent of the residents. The remaining consumers are currently receiving water from additional supply coming from Katnaghbyur and Garni.
The water supply interruption may last up to 36 hours. The primary cause of the accident, according to the company’s official statement, is the weather conditions. Heavy rainfall has led to landslides in the valleys and gorges, causing the pipelines in that area to shift.
Experts promise to restore the interrupted water supply by April 2 at 24:00.
