One of the Participants in the Meghri Military Unit Incident is the Son of a Major General: "Zhoghovurd"

"Zhoghovurd" newspaper reports: "The incident that recently took place in one of the military units in Meghri continues to be actively discussed within social, political, and military circles.

Recall that conscript soldiers from one of the Meghri military units voluntarily left, thereby expressing their protest, and later staged a march pledging their loyalty to the criminal world.

"Zhoghovurd" had reported that among the soldiers who called for disobedience was the son of one of the Ministry of Defense generals. Yesterday, we managed to clarify that it concerns Major General Genadi Tavaratsyan, the head of the National Defense Research University of the Republic of Armenia, whose son serves in that military unit.

However, another noteworthy aspect of this story is that the soldiers have been punished by being sent to the front line.

Nevertheless, this punitive policy of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, contradicts the propagandistic, targeted approach currently existing in our country. On the one hand, we say that those serving on the front lines are heroes or, as the minister himself puts it, “the guys who are on the frontline,” while on the other hand, we send those who committed offenses, those who voluntarily left the unit, to the front line, thereby declaring it a punishment.

Thus, it turns out that Davit Tonoyan, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, confirms the thesis that serving on the front lines is punishment. Not to mention that during the days of the April Velvet Revolution, the peacekeeping brigade soldiers stationed in Yerevan left their unit, considering that, for example, their commanders were incompetent, operating incorrectly, and that a revolution was necessary; however, the prosecutor general of the Republic did not initiate a criminal case against the soldiers and did not punish them based on political decisions.

Yet, regarding the Meghri military unit soldiers, who committed the same act (once again opposing their commanders and leaving the unit), the Prosecutor General's Office has initiated a criminal case."
