VIDEO: 'Moghesik' Surrenders to Police
19-year-old Ashot Grigoryan, better known by his nickname 'Moghesik', has surrendered to the police as a suspect in a murder case that occurred outside the 'Queen Burger' fast food outlet. This information has been provided by the police.
As previously reported, on March 19 at 6:00 PM, the police were notified by the number 1 university hospital that a man named Hambardzum Yezekyan from Nahapetavan village in Shirak Province had been admitted with a stab wound to his left chest.
Shortly after being hospitalized, another call came to the Erebuni police department from the same medical facility, informing them that 28-year-old Hambardzum Yezekyan had died without regaining consciousness. Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated in the investigative department of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative areas on charges of murder. Extensive operational and investigative measures are underway.
It was determined that the young man had been stabbed on Tigran Mets Avenue. Blood-like traces and a folding knife, which is believed to be the weapon used in the crime, were discovered at the scene. Officers from the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan police, in collaboration with their colleagues from the Erebuni department, quickly uncovered several details of the incident.
Preliminary information indicates that an unfounded argument broke out between the deceased young man and 18-year-old Ashot Grigoryan, who lives in Sari Tagh. The confrontation, which occurred in the presence of passersby, ended with a stabbing. Ashot Grigoryan fled the scene, and the stabbed young man was transported to the hospital by an ambulance.
Based on operational data, the investigative body decided to charge Ashot Grigoryan as a suspect. On March 20, a search warrant was issued for him. Thanks to extensive explanatory work, the wanted individual surrendered to the Erebuni police department on March 27.
