Knife Attack in Hrazdan Gorge Revealed; One Arrested
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed the details of a knife attack involving a 34-year-old man, leading to one arrest, according to the committee.
On March 24, 2019, a report was received at the Yerevan Malatya police station from the Armenia Medical Center regarding a patient who was admitted with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest, sustained from a fall. The victim, a resident of Yerevan born in 1984, claimed that his injuries occurred due to an accidental fall.
Subsequent investigative actions revealed that the injuries were inflicted around 5:30 PM on the same day in the Hrazdan Gorge of Yerevan during an altercation with another resident born in 1978, beneath the Kyiv Bridge.
A criminal case was initiated on March 25, 2019, at the Malatya police station under the first part of Article 112 of the Armenian Criminal Code. The pre-investigation continues at the Investigative Committee of the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts.
According to the data acquired through the investigation, the alleged perpetrator stabbed the 34-year-old victim during an argument over financial matters inside a vehicle.
A 41-year-old resident of Yerevan has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to the 34-year-old man.
The investigation is ongoing.
