Snowstorm and Black Ice on Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that as of 20:09 on March 25, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass and the inter-community roads between the villages of Melikgugh and Charchakis in the Aragatshar region are closed.
Traffic is difficult on the Sotk-Karvachar road, the Lanjik section of the Yerevan-Gyumri road, and the inter-community roads in the Ashotik and Amassia regions of Shirak province.
Black ice is present in the Spitak and Stepanavan bends, as well as on the inter-community roads of Syunik, Aragatsotn’s Aparan and Aragats regions, and on the Spitak-Gyumri and Talin-Lanjik-Mastara roads.
In the city of Yerevan, in the bends of Dilijan, and in the provinces of Gegharkunik (including Vardenis, Martuni, Gavar, Sevan), and in Vayots Dzor (including Yeghegnadzor and Jermuk), as well as in the Lori province (including Tashir, Spitak, and Stepanavan), precipitation is falling in the form of snow.
There is a snowstorm in the cities of Sevan, Chambarak, and Vardenis in Gegharkunik province.
In the Ashtarak region of Aragatsotn province and in the cities of Kajaran and Goris in Syunik province, as well as in the area known as Meghri Mountain, fog is present in the Dilijan bends and on the Sotk-Karvachar road.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
