15-Year-Old Boy Injured in Hit-and-Run Dies on the Way to Hospital

A tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region a short while ago. Around 21:00, 24-year-old Edmon Aslanyan, a resident of Martuni, hit 15-year-old Armen Jamkochyan with his Opel vehicle (license plate number 35 CM 635) on the roadside near the cemetery along the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway in the village of Geghhovit.

According to local photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene. He helped transport the injured boy to the Martuni Medical Center. However, the child lost consciousness and died on the way to the hospital.
