VIDEO: Sharmazanov Proposes to Declare Pashinyan's Birthday the Most Important Holiday in Armenia

The spokesperson for the Republican Party, Edward Sharmazanov, summarized the political and work week via a Facebook live stream.

Commenting on Nikol Pashinyan's press conference, Sharmazanov stated, "This press conference was yet another indicator that Nikol Pashinyan's government, and personally he, are advocates of political deception, trickery, and misleading the public. When he came to power, he promised a myriad of wonders, yet during the conference, he spoke neither of a magic wand, nor of removing red lines, nor of dramatically increasing pensions and salaries."

He noted that instead of taking action, Pashinyan continues to speak about previous administrations: "How long can he keep talking about the previous leaders? By tarnishing others and throwing stones, he cannot crystallize himself. Nikol is no longer an opposition official who earns his daily bread by hurling stones."

Sharmazanov believes that soon we will witness "new arrests, new detentions, new so-called sensational revelations" aimed at distracting the public from real issues.

Regarding the government's decision to mark the last Saturday of April as Citizen's Day in Armenia, Sharmazanov stated, "It's just another show; he wants to celebrate Citizen's Day, while one of his cabinet members stands up and says, 'This Citizen's Day is the second most important day after September 21.' This is simply an insult to our army, where did January 28 go, the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland? Where did May 9 go? If that's the case, declare June 1 the most important holiday of the Republic of Armenia: It's your Nikol Pashinyan's birthday."
