Closed and impassable roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of March 20, at 21:00, there are closed and impassable roads within the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while remaining vehicles can only pass with difficulty.

The Sotk-Karabakh motorway is also impassable.

There is black ice and fog in certain areas of the Goris-Kapan motorway.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.

According to information received from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Lars motorway is open to all types of vehicles.

Construction Works Underway

Construction work is taking place on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi motorway, from kilometer 39 up to Bagratashen.

The following alternative routes for transportation have been established:

For intra-community traffic towards the cities of Alaverdi and Vanadzor, as well as nearby settlements:

1. Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aigahat-Odzun-Alaverdi via the sections leading to the Georgian border.

Important Note

Since June 30, 2018, and as of March 20 this year, construction works are being conducted on the 139th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri road, resulting in a one-way closure of approximately 200 meters.
